The Workforce Development and Training workstream has developed a range of training, development and information resources and practical tools to support the sector in retaining, supporting and developing its workforce.
NCVYS launches new youth work information sheets
NCVYS has produced 7 new career information sheets for individuals interested in paid or voluntary work connected to working with young people in the voluntary sector.
Each sheet covers areas such as what it is like to be in the role, the work, routes in, qualifications and training.
They cover: Youth Advice Worker; Young People's Housing Support Worker; Youth Worker; Youth Volunteer Co-ordinator; Youth Health Worker; Youth Participation Worker; Youth Sports Worker;

'A Managers Toolkit: How to Develop Your Workforce' is now available
The toolkit is meant to help raise awareness among managers of workforce issues that currently affect the advice sector and thus their workforce. It also provides a range of practical tools/resources designed to help make improvements to their organisations current and future workforce practices.

Skills for Justice report available
As part of the Working Together for Advice project, the networks involved are working to align themselves more closely with Skills for Justice as the sector skills body. This report identifies workforce demographics across all sectors and will be used as the basis to reinforce the work of the independent advice sector with Skills for Justice.

Qualifications for the Advice Sector
A range of qualifications and training courses are available and can be accessed by people interested in a career in advice.
These courses will help learners to get accredited or qualified to provide advice, learn or develop an advice skill, gain knowledge of advice giving at various levels and improve awareness of the advice sector more generally.
